A Kyambogo University female student has been found dead in her room at a hostel in Banda, Kampala.
The deceased has been identified as Precious Musimenta, 26/U/AFD/06334/PD, a Bachelor of Accounting and Finance student attached to North Hall.
Musimenta was found dead in her room at Sports Pro-Hostel in Banda on Monday, September 28, 2026.
The Dean of Students confirmed the incident saying the circumstances surrounding the student’s death are yet to be established.
“We inform you of the passing of Precious Musimenta (26/U/AFD/06334/PD), who was pursuing a Bachelor’s in Accounting and Finance, attached to North Hall,” the announcement signed by Dean of Students Agnes Nakimuli Mugalu (PhD) reads.
“The late was found dead in her room at Sports Pro-Hostel in Banda today, Monday 28th September 2026.”
The university said Musimenta’s body had been taken to City Mortuary, where a post-mortem examination will be conducted to establish the cause of death.
“The body has been taken to City Mortuary for further investigations where a post mortem report on the cause of her death will be provided,” the statement said.
The University informed the public that the Student Welfare Department is also in contact with Musimenta’s family as arrangements for her burial are being made.
“The Student Welfare Department is getting in touch with Precious’s family for burial arrangements,” the Dean’s office said.
