A 66-year-old LC one chairman is among the three suspects that have been arrested by police in Kitebi over involvement in hitting a man with a paver on the head.
Henry Kasule, the chairman for Kitebi Cell in Rubaga district was arrested alongside Furik Seviri and Andrew Kyemwa Kitege on Wednesday, according to Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson, Racheal Kawala.
“On January, 15, 2026, Polly Kibirige Sekiranda, 63, a retired civil servant and resident of Kitebi cell, Mutundwe wars in Rubaga division was hit by a paver at the back of his head by a group of people while he was coming from a polling station at Kitebi Primary school,” Kawala said.
She said the victim was seriously injured.
“The victim was found lying in a pool of blood and was rushed to Kitebi Family Clinic and medical centre for first aid and later taken to Mulago Hospital.”
He said the suspects were tracked and later arrested.
Kawala said the case files have been forwarded to office of the DPP for perusal and legal advice.
The Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson said in separate operations in Busega and Bweyogerere, Police arrested 22 suspects as part of the ongoing crackdown on criminal hubs.
She said the suspects will soon be arraigned in courts of law.
