Pebuu Africa has unveiled Naaki: The Chronicles of a Bank Agent, a new comic book aimed at improving financial literacy among entrepreneurs and communities across Uganda through engaging storytelling.
Developed under the Pebuu Impact Initiative, the comic follows the journey of Naaki, a determined and charismatic young woman navigating life and business in Kampala.
Designed to be both entertaining and educational, the comic introduces readers to essential topics such as financial management, decision-making, and business planning.
By presenting these concepts in a relatable and accessible format, Pebuu hopes to bridge literacy gaps in regions where traditional reading engagement remains low and access to online resources is limited.
“We created Naaki as more than just a comic book—it’s a financial literacy adventure,” said John Paul Ssemyalo, CEO of Pebuu Africa. The printed comic will be distributed free of charge, with 30,000 copies circulated monthly through bank agents and small businesses across Uganda.
Supported by a network of partners including financial institutions and community stakeholders, the initiative ensures wide accessibility and encourages sharing across families and neighborhoods. Beyond entrepreneurs, Naaki is expected to resonate with youth and serve as a tool for organizations aiming to strengthen financial education.
Pebuu’s plans include translating the comic into local languages and expanding its reach to other African countries facing similar challenges. Future editions will be available digitally on the Pebuu website and complemented by interactive social media content on platforms like Instagram.
In a commitment to sustainability, Pebuu has also launched the environmental campaign One Agent, 10 Trees, pledging to plant 500,000 indigenous trees by 2030 to offset the environmental impact of producing millions of printed pages.
This initiative underscores the company’s belief in balancing business growth with environmental stewardship.
As Naaki hits print and digital shelves this September, Pebuu Africa continues to champion financial literacy as a vital component of Uganda’s economic empowerment, cultural engagement, and sustainable development.
