FDC presidential candidate Nathan Nandala Mafabi has pledged to transform the economic fortunes of Bugisu residents, promising higher coffee prices and improved road infrastructure if elected in the January 2026 general elections.
Addressing enthusiastic crowds in Namisindwa District, Mafabi highlighted the region’s longstanding neglect, saying poor roads have made it difficult for farmers to access markets and earn a decent living.
“If the government had tarmacked our roads, farmers could easily market their produce and improve their livelihoods,” Mafabi said, urging residents to vote for change.
Mafabi stunned the audience with a promise to raise coffee prices from the current 17,000 shillings per kilogram to 60,000 shillings, a move he said would restore dignity and economic stability to the region’s farmers.
He criticized the current government for imposing high taxes while failing to provide essential social services.
Nandala assured voters that his experience and leadership skills equip him to tackle corruption and promote national economic growth.
“Within five years of my leadership, Uganda will be a good country for all its citizens,” Mafabi said, expressing concern over the poverty and family conflicts affecting many Ugandans.
