The 2026 Kampala Auto Show concluded on Sunday at Kololo Independence Grounds after three days of showcasing Uganda’s growing automotive industry through vehicle exhibitions, motorsport entertainment, business networking and consumer engagement.
Held from July 17 to 19, the fifth edition of the annual event attracted car dealers, mechanics, motorsport drivers, insurers, asset-financing institutions, vehicle owners and automotive enthusiasts, further cementing its position as one of Uganda’s leading motoring and lifestyle events.
This year’s exhibition featured a diverse display of new and used vehicles, electric vehicles, vintage and customised cars, alongside live drifting, drag racing, stunt performances, maintenance workshops and exhibitions from businesses operating across the automotive value chain.
Among the exhibitors was Kansai Plascon Uganda, which participated as a co-sponsor for the third consecutive year, using the platform to promote its automotive paint solutions and engage consumers on vehicle refinishing and maintenance.

At the company’s exhibition booth, motorists, mechanics, spray painters and vehicle owners were introduced to Plascon’s range of automotive paints and related products designed for vehicle finishing, repair, refurbishment and long-term protection. Visitors also received demonstrations on professional paint application, body finishing and the importance of using genuine automotive paint products.
Speaking during the event, Daniel Kayongo, Head of Marketing at Kansai Plascon Uganda, said the Auto Show continues to provide an important platform for the company to engage directly with stakeholders in the automotive sector while raising awareness about its automotive paint portfolio.
“The Kampala Auto Show gives us a strong opportunity to engage directly with motorists, mechanics, spray painters, car owners and car enthusiasts. Many people know Plascon for decorative and architectural paints, but we also have strong automotive paint solutions that support vehicle finishing, repair and refurbishment. Our participation here is about education, product experience and supporting the wider automotive industry,” Kayongo said.

He noted that the exhibition enabled the company to demonstrate its expertise beyond decorative paints by highlighting solutions for vehicle body repair, refinishing and long-term protection.
Beyond the exhibitions, the Auto Show offered visitors a blend of motorsport action and family entertainment, including drifting competitions, drag races, stunt performances, electric vehicle displays, vintage cars and customised vehicle showcases.
The event also served as a platform for public education on vehicle ownership, with exhibitors engaging visitors on servicing, maintenance, insurance, financing, spare parts and road safety.
For Kansai Plascon Uganda, the exhibition reinforced the importance of quality automotive paint in preserving vehicle appearance, enhancing durability and protecting long-term vehicle value. The company also encouraged motorists to use genuine automotive paint products and seek professional application to achieve quality finishes.
