Police have at the last hour cleared the concert for Manisul Ssemanda also known as King Saha.
On Thursday evening, Police said the joint security committee was not convinced with security guidelines put in place and consequently stopped it.
However, in a statement on Friday morning, Police spokesperson, Kituuma Rusoke said a joint security team, along with the event organizers and venue managers, had met at the Cricket Oval to re-evaluate how the event can proceed while adhering to previously recommended safety measures.
Consequently, the concert was cleared.
“Following this meeting, it has been decided that the event will take place as scheduled at the cricket oval; however, use of the pavilion will be strictly prohibited due to its structural condition, which poses a risk to revelers,” Rusoke said.
