Police in Kiboga have arrested a Church of Uganda reverend for allegedly defiling four students and making one of them pregnant.
The suspect currently in custody is over aggravated defilement and rape is Rev. George William Luyimbazi of All Saints Church and also the principal of Bamusuta Vocational Institute, all in Kiboga district who is accused of defiling female victims aged between 16 and 18.
“Preliminary findings indicate that the suspect allegedly defiled the victims at different intervals from his residence at church(All Saints Church Kiboga) and at school (Bamusuta Vocational Institute Kiboga),” Wamala Region Police spokesperson, Racheal Kawala said.
She said that having recorded statements from victims, they were medically examined and results indicated one of them is currently pregnant.
The police spokesperson said Rev. Luyimbazi was rescued by police after being surrounded by parents who wanted to lynch him and that he is currently being held at Kiboga police as investigations continue.
He said the reverend will soon be arraigned in courts of law over aggravated defilement and rape.
