The High Court in Kampala has sentenced two prime suspects in the murder of former Ndiga Clan leader, Engineer Daniel Lwomwa Bbosa, to death.
Lugya Bbosa Tabula and Noah Bbosa were sentenced after pleading guilty to the murder of the former clan leader, who was shot dead on February 24, 2024, at Kikandwa Village in Lungujja, Kampala.
The duo appeared before Justice David Matovun on Thursday and pleaded guilty to murder, contrary to Sections 171 and 172 of the Penal Code Act. The court subsequently convicted them.
Before sentencing, Lugya pleaded for forgiveness from the court and the deceased’s family, asking the relatives to pardon him for his role in the killing.
However, Gladys Bbosa, the widow of the late Ndiga Clan leader, urged the court to impose the maximum sentence on those responsible for her husband’s death.
Justice Matovun subsequently sentenced Lugya and Noah to death, bringing the proceedings against the two prime suspects to an end.
The two were among five suspects facing charges in connection with Bbosa’s killing. The remaining three suspects denied the charges and were further remanded until September 2026, when their cases will proceed.
Engineer Daniel Lwomwa Bbosa was attacked and shot dead on February 24, 2024, at Kikandwa Village in Lungujja, in an incident that shocked the Buganda Kingdom and prompted investigations into the circumstances surrounding his killing.
Bbosa was widely known for his role in the Buganda cultural institution, where he served as the leader of the Ndiga Clan until his death.
