United Bank for Africa (UBA) Uganda, through its Corporate Social Responsibility arm, the UBA Foundation, brought Christmas cheer to children at Busoro Christ Church Orphanage in Fort Portal by donating essential household and welfare items to support their well-being during the festive season and beyond.
The UBA delegation was warmly received by Orphanage Director Mr. Bruce Nyanka and the children, whose excitement set a heartwarming tone for the visit.
The outreach was led by UBA Uganda Chief Operating Officer Ms. Claudia Appia-Asiamah, accompanied by Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications Mrs. Hoziana Niyonsaba Semanda, Fort Portal Branch Manager Mr. Wilber Ndinabo, and branch staff.
Speaking during the visit, Ms. Appia-Asiamah commended Mr. Nyanka for his unwavering dedication and selfless service, praising the orphanage for carrying out its mission with faith, resilience, and compassion. She encouraged the children and caregivers, extending prayers and goodwill for continued provision and blessings.
Mrs. Semanda described the visit as deeply moving, highlighting the happiness and sense of security among the children.
She noted that the donation is part of the UBA Foundation’s annual outreach programmes implemented across over 20 African countries, reflecting UBA’s commitment to community upliftment and sustainable social impact.

Mr. Nyanka shared his personal story of becoming a total orphan at 13 years and expressed heartfelt appreciation to UBA Uganda for what he called “love thoughtfully packaged for the children.”
He emphasized that the support, arriving during the festive holiday season, was timely and described it as God’s provision. He thanked the Bank for its continued support, noting that such acts of kindness sustain the orphanage’s mission and inspire hope for the future.
The visit reaffirms the UBA Foundation’s mission to transform lives and empower communities across Africa by sharing hope, care, and compassion with vulnerable members of society.
