Vivo Energy Uganda has announced a three-day working visit to the Albertine Graben from October 21 to 23, aimed at fostering deeper collaboration within Uganda’s burgeoning oil and gas sector.
The delegation, led by Managing Director Joanita Mukasa Menya, will tour critical sites including Tilenga, Kingfisher, Kabalega Industrial Park, and Hoima City Stadium to gain firsthand insights into ongoing upstream and midstream developments.
Mrs. Menya emphasized the importance of the visit for the downstream sector to fully appreciate progress in upstream and midstream operations.
“It is vital for us in the downstream sector to stay aligned with national energy ambitions. This visit will strengthen our partnerships and enhance our understanding of the sector’s developments,” she said.
The timing of the visit follows Vivo Energy’s recent joint venture agreement with the Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) to develop LPG storage infrastructure at Kabalega Industrial Park, a project expected to significantly increase the supply of clean cooking fuels nationwide.
Corporate Communications Manager Valery Okecho highlighted the visit’s objective as one of connection and strategic preparation.
“Our goal is to build stronger ties across the petroleum value chain. Understanding upstream and midstream projects will help us plan future investments and support the anticipated growth in fuel supply and LPG consumption,” he explained.
Vivo Energy views this visit as part of its ongoing commitment to collaborate closely with key sector stakeholders and position itself as a strategic partner in Uganda’s energy transition, particularly as the country moves towards the commencement of oil production.
