Media personality and sports administrator Cedric Ndilima Babu has died.
Babu, 46, who has been in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at a Nairobi hospital was battling severe heart failure after collapsing while on a trip in Kigali Rwanda, earlier this month.
The family had started a drive to raise about shs1.5 billion for a heart transplant.
Babu has been son to veteran politician Capt. Francis Babu and former East African Legislative Assembly Speaker Margaret Nantongo Zziwa.
He became famous as a television presenter in the early 2000s but also ran for Member of Parliament for Kampala Central in the 2021 general elections.
A former national tennis champion, Cedric represented Uganda in the Davis Cup, where he served both as a player and later as team captain.
His passion for the game later saw him take the helm as President of the Uganda Tennis Association.
His love for sports also led to formation of Kinetic Management Group (KMG) in 2010 to manage sports talents.
