C-Care Uganda has introduced its latest advancement in healthcare technology, a cutting-edge 1.5 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanner, at its flagship facility, C-Care IHK.

This new innovation promises to revolutionize diagnostic imaging in Uganda, providing precise, non-invasive, and quick medical diagnoses for patients nationwide.

The 1.5 Tesla Magnetom Altea MRI scanner integrates advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) to deliver exceptional imaging quality and efficiency.

The system can conduct routine scans in as little as 10 to 15 minutes, significantly reducing diagnostic wait times and the reliance on overseas referrals, addressing critical gaps in the healthcare system.

Key features of the new MRI scanner include:

  • High Magnetic Strength (1.5 Tesla): Capable of producing detailed and accurate imaging for a wide range of medical conditions.
  • AI Integration: Enhances image quality and optimizes workflows for superior diagnostic accuracy.
  • Patient-Centric Design: Ensures a comfortable, stress-free scanning experience.
  • Rapid Turnaround Times: Routine scans are completed swiftly, enabling timely treatment decisions.

Azhar Sundhoo, CEO of C-Care Uganda, expressed the company’s commitment to advancing healthcare in Uganda. “This milestone further solidifies C-Care’s position as a leader in the healthcare sector, reinforcing our dedication to providing the best care for our patients. We are also expanding our diagnostic services to other regions, including Mukono, Mbale, and Gulu, to ensure that advanced healthcare is accessible to all Ugandans,” Sundhoo said.

Dr. Miriam Musinga Mutero, General Manager of C-Care IHK, emphasized the impact of the new MRI service. “This technology allows us to conduct comprehensive, multidisciplinary consultations and provide more effective solutions for our patients. With the addition of the MRI scanner, we no longer need to refer patients elsewhere for complex tests, and we are now able to offer a full spectrum of diagnostic services,” Dr. Mutero stated.

The introduction of the MRI scanner is part of C-Care Uganda’s broader vision to expand its healthcare services across the country. The organization plans to establish additional diagnostic centers in Mukono, Mbale, and Gulu, ensuring that advanced healthcare services are within reach for all Ugandans.

“Our mission remains clear: to make healthcare accessible, inclusive, sustainable, and impactful for every Ugandan,” Sundhoo added.
