Four officials attached to a Parish Development Model (PDM) SACCO in Manafwa District have been charged and remanded to prison over the alleged theft of Shs8 million meant for beneficiaries.
The suspects were arraigned before the Chief Magistrate’s Court in Manafwa by the State House Anti Corruption Unit in collaboration with the Criminal Investigations Directorate and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Those charged are Samuel Wanzala, Micheal Kashake, Harriet Nelima and Fred Kisaka.
According to the prosecution, the accused and others still at large allegedly conspired in December 2025 to steal Shs8 million belonging to Buwanzala PDM SACCO and its beneficiaries in Manafwa District.
The suspects face charges of theft and conspiracy to commit a felony.
Court heard that the money was intended to support beneficiaries under the Parish Development Model programme before it was allegedly mismanaged and diverted.
