The Kabaka of Buganda, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, has cautioned young people against using TikTok to abuse others, urging them instead to use the platform positively for personal and national development.
In his Eid El-Fitr message, the Kabaka said while TikTok is a powerful tool for communication and promotion, it should be used responsibly.
“Many of our youths have joined a social media platform known as TikTok, which helps in promotion and communication by sharing useful information. However, we urge them to use it well by promoting religion, agriculture, education and health, instead of abusing others,” he said.
The Kabaka also congratulated Muslims upon successfully completing the fasting period, calling on them to maintain prayer and discipline as a way of strengthening their faith.
“We thank Allah for enabling us to reach this important day. Continue praying not only for yourselves but also for the good of our country,” he added.
He further commended Ugandans for peacefully going through the recent elections and urged those elected into leadership to focus on delivering services, especially by addressing corruption.
“We congratulate you upon completing the election season. Those elected should prioritise the needs of the people, particularly the fight against corruption,” he noted.
Addressing concerns about post-election tensions, especially in the Buganda region, the Kabaka called for dialogue among stakeholders to promote unity and stability.
