Moyo District Woman MP and State Minister for Primary Education Joyce Moriku Kaducu has gracefully accepted defeat in the recently concluded NRM party primaries, where Bernadette Chandia Kodili emerged as the new flag bearer for the district’s Woman MP seat in the upcoming general elections.
Speaking after the results were announced, Minister Kaducu acknowledged the voice of the people and expressed gratitude for the time she has served.
“The people have spoken, I thank them for the opportunity to serve,” she said.
She went on to congratulate her opponent and wished her success in the journey ahead.
“I congratulate Bernadette Kodili on her victory,” Kaducu said.
Kaducu emphasized the importance of maintaining unity within the district despite political competition, saying leadership should always prioritize development and cooperation.
“Politics should never divide us; we are all working towards the betterment of our district and our nation,” she added.
Her conciliatory message echoed the sentiments of NRM party spokesperson Emmanuel Dombo, who called for calm, respect, and unity among party members as the country prepares for the 2026 general elections.
“We wish to congratulate the winners and kindly request them to celebrate with decorum and respect the people they competed with. This will help us to maintain unity within the party,” said Dombo.
