MultiChoice Uganda’s acclaimed drama series Damalie has officially concluded its two-season run on Pearl Magic Prime, marking the end of a groundbreaking era in local television.
After two years of gripping storytelling, intense drama, and standout performances, the series delivered its highly anticipated one-hour finale on 26th November, drawing widespread attention from fans across the country.
Since premiering, Damalie has grown into a flagship title for Pearl Magic Prime, earning a loyal following and solidifying its place as one of Uganda’s most notable TV productions.
Airing every weekday at 8:30 pm, the series consistently offered audiences premium, homegrown entertainment, contributing significantly to the growth of Uganda’s television industry.
With the show now concluded, MultiChoice Uganda has announced a strategic move intended to broaden its reach and allow more viewers to enjoy the franchise.
The series is set to transition from Pearl Magic Prime to its sister channel, Pearl Magic, where audiences will be able to catch up on previous episodes every Monday to Wednesday at 8:30 pm.
According to MultiChoice Uganda, this shift responds directly to the show’s immense popularity and increased demand for accessibility across different subscription packages. The transition is expected to bring Damalie to more DStv and GOtv households, ensuring wider nationwide viewership.
Speaking on the development, Rinaldi Jamugisa, PR and Communications Manager at MultiChoice Uganda, said the move is part of a deliberate strategy to elevate the series to national-hit status.
“The move to Pearl Magic is a strategic effort to cement Damalie’s status as a national hit. And, as Uganda’s most-loved storyteller, we hope to be an entertainment companion, especially as we approach the festive season,” he said.
Before the finale aired, producers assured fans of a powerful conclusion—one that would tie up the series’ explosive story arcs and deliver an emotional, satisfying goodbye. Viewers who followed every twist of Damalie’s narrative were treated to a dramatic, jaw-dropping ending that lived up to expectations.
Producer Doreen Mirembe expressed deep appreciation for the audience’s support over the show’s two-season journey.
“Our viewers have walked this journey with us for two seasons, and we are very grateful for the support. The cast has worked tirelessly to deliver award-winning performances, so they should expect a jaw-dropping series finale. We also want to thank MultiChoice Uganda for the support they have rendered to us during the show’s run. They have been a big part of the show’s resounding success,” she said.
