Security in Namisindwa District is searching for a man accused of killing his neighbor following an argument over a dog.
The suspect, Joseph Musawale, a resident of Bukokho Parish in Bukokho Sub-county, allegedly attacked Gerald Nyungu on the night of Friday, March 6.
According to reports, Nyungu was on his way to Bukokho Church of Uganda for an overnight prayer when Musawale allegedly attacked him with a panga. The two had earlier clashed after Musawale accused Nyungu of kicking his dog in the stomach.
Nyungu was rushed to Magale Health Centre IV by residents but later succumbed to his injuries.
Local authorities confirmed that security teams are actively searching for Musawale, who remains at large.
Speaking on the rising violence in the district, Namisindwa LCV Chairperson-elect Emma Bwayo attributed it to drug abuse and anger among young people.
Deputy RDC JB Kaswabuli also called on parents to take responsibility for their children as security prepares operations to address idle youths in the district.
