The National Unity Platform (NUP) has said that its Deputy Spokesperson, Alex Waiswa Mufumbiro, was this morning abducted by armed men outside Kawempe Magistrates Court.
In a statement posted on the party’s official X page, NUP alleged that Mufumbiro was forced into a Toyota Noah registration number UAK 368K shortly after attending a court session for other NUP members Eddie Mutwe, Achileo Kivumbi, and Tasi Calvin, also known as Bobi Giant.
“Just a few minutes back at the Kawempe Magistrates Court, our Deputy spokesperson Alex Waiswa Mufumbiro has been abducted by armed gunmen travelling in a Toyota Noah registration number UAK 368K. He was attending court for our comrades Eddie Mutwe, Achileo Kivumbi and Tasi Calvin (Bobi Giant). The impunity continues!” the party posted.
The whereabouts of Mufumbiro remain unclear, and authorities are yet to issue a statement on the incident.
