Police have revised the death toll from the fatal accident on Kampala-Gulu highway road in Kiryandongo to 46.
Police had initially reported 63 deaths in the Kiryandongo accident but have clarified that some of the victims previously presumed dead were later found to be unconscious and receiving medical attention.
“The death toll has now been confirmed at 46. Some victims who were initially thought to have died were later found to be alive but unconscious,” a police spokesperson said.
The accident, which occurred on Tuesday night, involved Nile Star bus and multiple vehicles and has left several others injured.
