The National Social Security Fund (NSSF) has announced that the annual Kampala Hills Run, originally planned for Sunday October,12 , will now take place on Sunday 2 November 2025 due to circumstances beyond their control.
According to officials, all other arrangements remain unchanged.
NSSF Head of Marketing and Corporate Affairs, Barbra Teddy Arimi assured stakeholders that the revised date would not disrupt the run’s objectives or activities.
“While we recognise the inconvenience this change may cause to our partners and the public, we are confident it also opens the door for even greater participation. We encourage both our long-standing partners and the public to join us in improving the education sector by purchasing a kit at shs35,000 and taking part in this worthwhile cause,” she said.
Ms Arimi extended her appreciation to the partners and members of the public who have already pledged their support to the cause.
The NSSF Kampala Hills Run seeks to mobilise funds to improve learning conditions in public primary schools through refurbishment of classrooms, sanitation facilities, and the promotion of digital literacy.
Since its inception, the initiative has supported the renovation of 25 primary schools across the country, benefitting more than 40,000 pupils daily.
These interventions have contributed to a 12% rise in enrolment and a 10% decline in dropout rates among the beneficiary schools.
