Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has said it has recovered Integrated science scripts for 34 learners at Bamure Primary School in Koboko District that had gone missing.
The scripts went missing and during marking of exams, UNEB awarded each of the candidates ‘X’ as efforts to look for them commenced.
According to UNEB spokesperson, Jenifer Kalule, following a thorough chekc, it was found out that the scripts had been locked in the headmaster’s office.
” It is this investigation that yielded into the discovery of the sealed script envelop which was found intact in the lockable box for UNEB materials in the office of the Headmaster,” Kalule said.
She said that the envelope was handed over to Koboko Central Police Station, which verified that it had not been tampered with before it was returned to UNEB for marking.
“For avoidance of doubt, the scripts were collected by Koboko Central Police Station, which confirmed that the envelope was intact and had not been interfered with. The scripts have now been submitted to UNEB for marking,” she said.
“We reassure the parents and candidates of Bamure Primary School that their scripts will be marked expeditiously and the candidates graded in time for selection and placement,” Kalule said.
