Security forces have reportedly denied relatives of National Unity Platform (NUP) president Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu, popularly known as Bobi Wine, access to his home in Magere.
The family had visited to deliver food and check on household members amid heightened tensions following the recent presidential election.
Micheal Mukwaya, also known as Mickie Wine, a singer and Bobi Wine’s younger brother, expressed frustration over the treatment of their family.
“It’s really absurd that security did not allow us to visit our family members, despite thorough checks on our cars and ourselves. Initially, we were told to wait, and several phone calls were made, keeping us waiting for over four hours,” Mickie Wine said.
Banjo Man, another brother, questioned the continued roadblocks in areas where Bobi Wine is reported to appear.
“If the elections were peaceful, and if security has no interest in Bobi Wine, why do they put roadblocks wherever they hear he has appeared?” he asked.
Irene Kayemba, a sister to Bobi Wine, added that they had brought food and other essential supplies to the family but were denied entry.
Bobi Wine, who is in hiding after multiple reported raid attempts on his residence, continues to appear in videos visiting supporters in different locations.
