KCB Bank Uganda has launched the second edition of the KCB East Africa Golf Tournament, set to take place on 27 June 2026 at the Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort and Spa.

The tournament, organized in partnership with ICEA LION Insurance, Kenya Airways, CFAO, and Ruby Hospital, will be held under the theme “Roar on the Green” and is expected to attract more than 180 golfers from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Organisers say the event is designed to deliver a premier regional golfing experience while promoting networking, sportsmanship, and regional integration through golf.

The competition is open to golfers of all ages with a valid handicap and registration under a CDH ID. Players will compete in four-ball teams, with the highest score on each hole counting towards the team total. The tournament will be played under the Stableford format, which awards points based on performance per hole and emphasizes consistency and strategy.

Organisers clarified that, apart from caddy fees, participation is free of charge, and no purchases or payments are required from eligible participants to compete.

Corporate partners are expected to play a significant role in enhancing the tournament experience. ICEA LION Insurance will feature its Clubman’s Insurance product, which covers up to shs4 million for loss or damage to golfing equipment and personal effects, as well as third-party liability during play, practice, or transit.

Kenya Airways, the official airline partner, will award air tickets to the winning four-ball team, while CFAO will showcase a Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Series as part of a hole-in-one prize initiative. Ruby Hospital will serve as the wellness partner for the event.

Speaking at the launch, Noela Byuma, Head of Marketing and Communications at KCB Bank Uganda, said the tournament reflects both sporting excellence and broader social impact.

“The ‘Roar on the Green’ theme reflects the confidence and determination required to succeed both on the course and in business. The KCB East Africa Golf Tour provides a unique platform for building relationships and fostering meaningful connections across diverse backgrounds,” she said.

Byuma added that the initiative also supports environmental sustainability through tree-planting efforts aimed at promoting a greener future.

Tournament Coordinator Paul Kaheru said the event continues to provide a strong platform for regional competition and engagement, while Golf Director Theodor Van Rooyen noted that it highlights precision, teamwork, and excellence as Uganda’s top players prepare for the grand finale in Nairobi.

The tournament builds on the success of its inaugural edition. Last year, team “On the Money,” comprising Gloria Nanyonga, Dipak Patel, Nic Snyman, and Mathew Nviiri, won the overall title with 111 Stableford points. In the individual categories, Enoch Nuwagaba topped the men’s division with 39 points, while Florence Namara led the ladies’ category with 32 points.

Environmental sustainability remains central to the tournament, with KCB Bank Uganda advancing its Go Green Campaign. Following the planting of 300 trees at Serena Kigo in the previous edition, the bank is targeting 15,000 trees nationwide as part of its broader conservation agenda.
