Nile Special has concluded its nationwide FIFA World Cup 2026 fan engagement campaign with a grand final watch party at King’s Park Arena in Kampala, where hundreds of football enthusiasts gathered to witness Spain edge Argentina 1-0 after extra time to win the FIFA World Cup.

The Kampala event marked the final stop of a month-long campaign that brought the World Cup experience closer to Ugandan fans through large-scale watch parties in Jinja, Gulu, Mbarara and Kampala, complemented by smaller activations in bars and entertainment venues across the country.

The campaign kicked off in Jinja on the tournament’s opening day before moving to Gulu, where fans watched Morocco overcome Canada and France defeat Paraguay. It later shifted to Mbarara for the quarter-finals before culminating in Kampala with the tournament’s showpiece final.

At King’s Park Arena, football fans remained captivated throughout the closely contested encounter, which was decided in extra time as Spain scored the decisive goal to claim the 2026 FIFA World Cup title.

Beyond the football, the event featured live performances by Dax Vibez, Cindy Sanyu and Fik Fameica, creating a festive atmosphere that blended sport, music and entertainment.

Fans also participated in Nile Special’s ongoing “Gwe Kafulu” score predictor campaign, which gives consumers an opportunity to predict match results and win prizes through the brand’s partnership with Hisense Uganda.

The final watch party also formed part of Nile Breweries Limited’s “Cheers to Bars” initiative, which recognises bars and entertainment venues as key social spaces where adult consumers gather to watch football, interact with friends and celebrate major sporting events responsibly.

Speaking during the event, Nile Breweries Head of Marketing Wangechi Gitahi said the campaign was designed to create memorable experiences that went beyond simply screening football matches.

“The FIFA World Cup is one of the biggest moments of connection in sport, and for Nile Special, this campaign has been about bringing that energy closer to fans here in Uganda. From Jinja to Gulu, Mbarara and now Kampala, we have seen fans turn up with passion, excitement and pride,” Gitahi said.

She said the campaign successfully combined football, entertainment and fan participation through watch parties, score predictions, prizes and live performances.

“The final at King’s Park Arena gives us a fitting end to the journey. It brings together everything the campaign has stood for; football, connection, participation, entertainment and shared celebration,” she added.

Nile Breweries Limited National Sales Director Ifeoluwapo “Ife” Subair said the campaign also underscored the central role bars continue to play in Uganda’s football culture during major international tournaments.

“Throughout this campaign, bars have been at the centre of the fan experience. They are the places where people come together to watch matches, debate results, support their teams and share the emotions that come with football,” Subair said.

He added that through the “Cheers to Bars” initiative, Nile Breweries continues to acknowledge the contribution of bars and entertainment venues to responsible adult enjoyment, local businesses and Uganda’s wider entertainment ecosystem.
