A fierce fire on Monday afternoon gutted a workshop in Ntinda, Nakawa Division, reducing five vehicles to ashes and leaving two others badly damaged.
Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire confirmed the incident, saying the blaze broke out at about 1:20 pm.
” Five vehicles were burnt beyond repair, two others were partially damaged, and several machines destroyed,” Owoyesigyire said.
He added that Police Fire Prevention and Rescue Services, working jointly with engineers from the Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL), responded promptly and managed to contain the fire before it spread to neighboring structures.
Police have since launched investigations to establish the exact cause of the blaze.
