President Yoweri Museveni has announced his new Cabinet for the 2026–2031 term, with notable appointments including Dr. Lawrence Muganga, the Vice Chancellor of Victoria University, and Masaka Woman MP Justine Nameere.
Dr. Muganga has been appointed Minister of State for Internal Affairs, while Justine Nameere has been named Minister of State for Local Government.
The new Cabinet retains Jessica Rose Epel Alupo as Vice President and Robinah Nabbanja as Prime Minister and Leader of Government Business in Parliament.
The deputy prime ministers named in the new line-up include Rebecca Kadaga as First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for East African Community Affairs, Dr. Crispus Walter Kiyonga as Second Deputy Prime Minister and Deputy Leader of Government Business, and Lukia Nakadama as Third Deputy Prime Minister without Portfolio.
Key ministers in the Cabinet include Janet Kataaha Museveni (Education and Sports), Sam Mayanja (Attorney General), Henry Musasizi (Finance, Planning and Economic Development), Dr. Monica Musenero Musanza (Energy and Mineral Development), and Dr. Chris Baryomunsi (Health).
Other Ministers of State appointed include Alum Sandra Santa (Economic Monitoring), Beatrice Akello (Northern Uganda), Phyllis Chemutai (Primary Education), and Nakawuki Susan Nsambu (Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities), among others.
President Museveni also named several Senior Presidential Advisors, including Hamson Obua, Ruth Nankabirwa, Francis Mwebesa, and Evelyn Anite.
The reshuffle introduces fresh faces into government while retaining experienced leaders in key ministries, signaling a blend of continuity and renewal in the new administration.
