Pearl Bank  has continued its impressive winning streak in 2025, after clinching the Banking Services – General Banking Accolade at the 2025 Financial Reporting (FiRe) Awards held at Hotel Africana on November 5, 2025.

The annual awards, organized by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) in partnership with the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) and the Uganda Securities Exchange (USE), recognize organizations that uphold the highest standards in financial reporting, transparency, and accountability.

Under the theme “Sustainability Practices and Reporting in Uncertain Global Times,” the 2025 FiRe Awards highlighted the importance of ethical corporate reporting and sustainability-driven governance.

Commenting on the win, Peter Ssenyange, the Chief Financial Officer at Pearl Bank, noted that the FiRe Awards provide a vital platform for organizations to benchmark and improve their financial reporting standards.

“Such engagements hold us accountable not only as advocates for best practices in financial reporting but also as practitioners. This enables us to showcase our performance and share key information that matters to shareholders and stakeholders,” Ssenyange said.

He extended appreciation to the Bank’s management, finance team, and stakeholders for their continued support, which he said has been instrumental in achieving the recognition.

CPA Timothy David Ediomu, President of ICPAU, emphasized the role of strong foundational institutions in nurturing professional excellence.

“Since their inception in 2011, the FiRe Awards have encouraged organizations to go beyond compliance—to tell their stories holistically and show how their financial decisions align with broader societal goals,” Ediomu remarked.

Prof. Aaron Mushengyezi, Vice Chancellor of Uganda Christian University and Chief Guest at the event, congratulated the winners and commended the organizers for promoting best practices in corporate reporting.

Pearl Bank’s latest accolade adds to a series of recent achievements. The bank’s CFO, Peter Ssenyange, also won the Chief Financial Officer of the Year and Sustainability Awards at the 2025 CFO Awards. Additionally, the bank earned a Sustainability Certification in Germany in October 2025—affirming its commitment to sustainable banking in line with its five-year strategic plan.

As it transitions to its new brand identity, Pearl Bank continues to implement its strategic agenda through two high-impact goals: Driving Sustainable Financial Inclusion and Stimulating Entrepreneurship and Service—all under its overarching purpose of “Fostering Prosperity for Ugandans.”
