Several people are feared dead following a serious road accident that occurred on Sunday evening in Kyakatebe village, Kyakatebe Parish, Myanzi Sub-county in Kasanda District along the Kampala–Mubende highway.
The accident involved a taxi from Kampala which rammed into a Link Bus that was travelling towards Kampala. The impact was severe, leaving the taxi completely wrecked and torn into pieces.
An unconfirmed number of passengers in the taxi are believed to have died on the spot due to the heavy impact. Passengers in the bus reportedly escaped with minor or no injuries.
By press time, police had not yet issued an official statement about the accident or confirmed the number of casualties.
