Uganda Breweries Limited (UBL) has launched its World Beer Day celebrations with the “Tunyuke, Lunaku lwa Beer” campaign, inviting Ugandans to unwind, connect and celebrate responsibly after a busy week.
As part of the celebrations, consumers will enjoy special offers at participating bars and outlets across the country. Under the promotion, customers who purchase five selected UBL beers from the company’s portfolio — including Bell Lager, Guinness, Tusker, White Cap and Pilsner — will receive the fifth beer free through a “buy five, pay for four” offer.
UBL has also introduced surprise rewards, with mystery shoppers visiting selected outlets nationwide to identify and reward consumers enjoying the company’s brands.
The World Beer Day celebration comes as UBL recognises the role beer has played in bringing people together and creating shared experiences among Ugandans. The company noted that after days of work, business and daily responsibilities, the occasion provides an opportunity for people to relax and reconnect.
The campaign theme, “Tunyuke, Lunaku lwa Beer,” draws inspiration from the Luganda expression “tunyuke,” which reflects the familiar end-of-day moment when work is complete and people take time to unwind.
According to UBL, the initiative is aimed at celebrating Ugandans’ hard work while promoting responsible enjoyment and supporting the hospitality sector, including bars, retailers and kafundas across the country.
“World Beer Day allows us to recognise our consumers and the hospitality ecosystem that brings people together,” said Elizabeth Mutamuliza, Marketing Manager Beer at UBL. “Beyond giving Ugandans a reason to pause and catch up, this celebration supports our local retail partners and kafundas by driving excitement and foot traffic back into neighbourhood businesses after a productive week.”
UBL encouraged consumers to participate by visiting their favourite outlets, meeting friends and colleagues, and celebrating responsibly.
The celebration comes as UBL marks 80 years of brewing excellence, highlighting the company’s long-standing contribution to Uganda’s beverage industry and its role in creating moments of connection among consumers.
