The Ugandan national cricket team has for the first time in history qualified for the Cricket World Cup, the biggest tournament in the game.
Uganda qualified after being Rwanda in the last round of matches in the Africa leg of qualifiers to secure a top-two finish in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Region Qualifier, with five wins in six games.
Uganda had earlier beaten Tanzania, Kenya , Nigeria and highly ranked Zimbabwe and lost only one game to Namibia.

We thank God for gifting you and Uganda such a massive stage at the Cricket World Cup for you to showcase your talents and achieve even more,” First Lady and Minister for Education and Sports, Janet Museveni tweeted.
Held every two years, the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, is an international cricket tournament, organised by the International Cricket Council since 2007.
The 20-team tournament proper in 2024 will work in two phases before the knockouts.
The top two teams in each of the four groups of five will move to a Super Eights phase, where the remaining sides split into two groups of four.
The top two in each group will then make their way to the semi-finals.
