Ugandan agricultural exporters are showcasing fresh produce at Macfrut 2026 in Rimini, as the country steps up efforts to expand its footprint in European markets.
The delegation, led by Elizabeth Paula Napeyok and supported by the Uganda Embassy in Rome, brings together more than 45 exhibitors. Participants include representatives from Agritrade, Hortifresh and the East Africa Entrepreneurs Association.
The three-day exhibition, held at the Rimini Expo Centre, runs until April 23 and has drawn participants from more than 80 countries.
Uganda is promoting a range of fresh produce, including mangoes, pineapples, passion fruits and avocados, alongside coffee tastings aimed at boosting the profile of its coffee sector among international buyers.

Napeyok said maintaining consistent quality and strengthening logistics systems are critical for Ugandan farmers seeking to remain competitive in global markets. She added that the embassy is pursuing investment in agricultural value chains to support youth employment and long-term economic growth.
The event opened with remarks from Francesco Lollobrigida, who highlighted the importance of international cooperation and resilient food systems in the face of global geopolitical pressures.
As part of efforts to deepen partnerships, the embassy hosted a working dinner on April 22, bringing together officials and exporters to discuss strategies for meeting international market standards.
