As part of the 51st birthday celebrations for General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, supporters of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) and the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) gathered in large numbers at Kololo Independence Grounds earlier today for a patriotic and environmentally-focused run.
The event, themed “Run for Greening Uganda,” aimed to promote environmental conservation while celebrating national unity and Gen. Muhoozi’s leadership.
The runners, dressed in vibrant yellow, green, and white vests, created a striking visual that symbolized their commitment to a greener Uganda.
The run was officially flagged off by Lieutenant General Kayanja Muhanga, the Commander of Land Forces, who represented Gen. Muhoozi at the event.
In a symbolic show of solidarity, Gen. Muhanga also joined participants in the run, further energizing the crowd.
Among the notable figures present were Faridah Nambi, former Kawempe North MP candidate, and Mayor Salim Uhuru, alongside hundreds of other supporters who turned up to honor Gen. Muhoozi.
Participants chanted songs in his praise, holding placards and banners expressing admiration for his leadership.
From children to youth and the elderly, Ugandans of all ages took part in the run, showing that the cause transcended generational boundaries.
The event was marked not just by its festive atmosphere, but by a strong message of patriotism and collective action towards environmental preservation.
This marks the second consecutive year that Gen. Muhoozi’s birthday has been celebrated on such a grand scale.
Many participants used the occasion to openly express their desire to see him take on a larger national role, with growing calls for him to step into the country’s top leadership position, inspired by what they describe as his patriotic stance and visionary leadership.
