Musician Patrick Mulwana, popularly known as Alien Skin has been released after recording a statement with police, a source familiar with the matter has said.
Police on Wednesday reported that the musician known for his notorious behaviour had been arrested over the murder of a former Fangone Entertainment member.
According to a source, Alien Skin was detained at Katwe Police Station from where he recorded a statement before he was later released to return home.
The singer had been in hiding for about a week following the death of his former dancer and popular TikToker Top Dancer.
Before his death, Top Dancer appeared in a video alleging that he had been severely beaten, claims that have since drawn public attention and police interest.
Police had mounted a manhunt for Alien Skin to explain the circumstances surrounding the dancer’s death.
His decision to present himself came after a protest by fans and followers, who demanded answers regarding his whereabouts.
During the protest, police arrested eight demonstrators, three men and five women who remain in custody.
As of press time, police had not issued an official statement regarding Alien Skin’s release.
