Kampala Kindergarten Association (KKA) has marked 75 years of academic excellence with the launch of its Platinum Jubilee celebrations, unveiled during the school’s annual Sports Day in Nsambya.
The event, attended by parents, students, and school leadership, combined celebration with reflection, as the institution highlighted its legacy and future ambitions.
Speaking on behalf of the Board of Trustees and management, Peter Mboowa said the anniversary signals a renewed commitment to excellence and innovation. “Our focus is centered around a new era of excellence. We are proactively navigating modern challenges to ensure KKA remains a beacon of excellence,” he said.
He outlined a long-term vision aimed at transforming the school’s learning model.
“By 2029, we plan to have a fully integrated holistic curriculum that fuses digital-based learning with evidence-based teaching strategies to ensure our students are not just prepared for primary school, but for a rapidly changing global landscape,” Mboowa added, noting that the strategy includes expansion into lower primary education.
Founded in 1951 by British parents, KKA is one of Uganda’s pioneer early childhood education institutions. For decades, it has maintained a focus on nurturing children through a balance of formal and informal learning.
The Wakiso District Sports Officer, Ssenyonga Brian Charles, commended the school for promoting both academic and co-curricular development. He noted that institutions like KKA play a key role in nurturing talent from an early age while aligning with national education priorities.
KKA Head teacher Nakabubi Petronilla described the milestone as a reflection of consistency and trust built over generations.
“Celebrating this milestone is a testament to our consistency and the trust parents have placed in us for over 70 years,” she said, adding that the school remains committed to learner-centered approaches through a competence-based curriculum.
As part of its forward strategy, the institution has adopted a five-year roadmap focused on expanding enrollment, strengthening teaching capacity, and integrating digital literacy with evidence-based learning methods to address diverse student needs.
The Platinum Jubilee celebrations will run throughout the year, featuring alumni engagement activities and school events, culminating in a final celebration scheduled for the third term.
