Security agencies have stepped up deployments ahead of tomorrow’s highly anticipated match between Uganda Cranes and South Africa at Namboole Stadium.
Authorities have issued a warning against the purchase of fake tickets.
According to SSP Patrick Onyango, the Police PRO for Kampala Metropolitan Police, some genuine tickets are being sold multiple times, but only the first person to enter the stadium will be allowed in.
“The machine will read the rest as already used,” Onyango explained, urging the public to be cautious.
For fans who have not secured tickets, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has designated three fan zones where the match will be screened live on big screens.
The designated fan zones for tomorrow’s Uganda Cranes match are King’s Park in Bweyogerere, Kyadondo Rugby Club, and Masindi.
“Fans can enjoy the game safely at these locations,” SSP Onyango said, emphasizing that security personnel will be stationed at all access points and along roads leading to Namboole Stadium to prevent any breaches.
He appealed to the public to avoid buying tickets from unauthorized sellers today or tomorrow and encouraged everyone to use the fan zones for a safe and enjoyable experience
