RUBiS Energy Uganda, in partnership with Castrol, has announced sponsorship of Kenyan rally outfit CRS Racing ahead of the 2026 Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally currently taking place in Mbarara.
The sponsorship was unveiled on Friday at the RUBiS Kakoba Service Station in Mbarara and marks an expansion of the company’s motorsport involvement within the region.
CRS Racing, led by brothers Jasmeet Chana and Ravi Chana, heads into the rally following a strong performance at the recent WRC Safari Rally in Kenya, where the team secured victory in its Kenya National Rally Championship (KNRC) category despite challenging conditions.

The Chana brothers will compete in the Pearl Rally aboard their Ford Fiesta Rally2 as they seek to build on their growing reputation within African motorsport.
The Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally, which doubles as a round of the FIA African Rally Championship (ARC) and the Uganda National Rally Championship (NRC), is regarded as one of the continent’s toughest rally events due to its demanding terrain and unpredictable weather conditions across Mbarara and Kiruhura districts.
This year’s edition has attracted a record 65 crews, setting the stage for one of the most competitive contests in recent years.
RUBiS Energy Uganda said the partnership reflects the company’s commitment to supporting high-performance platforms that align with its values of endurance, reliability, and excellence.
Speaking during the announcement, RUBiS Energy Uganda Managing Director William Fillet said motorsport represents a strong fit for both the RUBiS and Castrol brands.
“Motorsport is the ultimate test of performance, precision, and resilience — qualities that define both CRS Racing and the RUBiS brand along with the high-performance Castrol lubricants,” Fillet said.
“Our support for Jasmeet and Ravi Chana is not only a celebration of their proven track record but also a reflection of our commitment to powering champions across every terrain. As they take on the Pearl of Africa Rally, we are proud to stand behind a team that embodies excellence and determination at the highest level,” he added.

The sponsorship also strengthens an existing regional motorsport partnership involving RUBiS Energy Kenya and Castrol while increasing the brands’ visibility among Uganda’s growing rally audience.
Organisers expect large crowds to follow the competition as crews navigate technical stages across the Ankole sub-region, including the popular Kaguta and Ankole Cow sections.
The rally, which starts today, May 7, will conclude on May 10.
For CRS Racing, the event presents another opportunity to cement its position among the continent’s leading rally teams while competing against some of the region’s top drivers.

RUBiS Energy Uganda said its involvement in motorsport forms part of broader efforts to promote excellence, performance, and innovation across its markets.
