The spirit of color, joy, and cultural unity filled the Millennium Grounds Lugogo as thousands gathered to celebrate Holi 2026 in a spectacular display of tradition and festivity.
Organized by the Rajasthani Association in collaboration with the Indian Association of Uganda and supported by the High Commission of India in Kampala, the festival was headlined by main sponsor Kansai Plascon, reaffirming the company’s dedication to community engagement and cultural celebration.
The grounds came alive with clouds of bright gulal and abir as participants embraced the playful Holi tradition of spreading color.
Children dashed through vibrant powders and water bursts, while families and friends smeared pigments symbolizing love, vitality, and hope. The event was a colorful reflection of renewal, unity, and the triumph of positivity over adversity.
Traditional Indian music, dance, and cuisine enhanced the celebratory atmosphere, creating a platform for cultural exchange and enjoyment.
A dramatic highlight came courtesy of a Uganda Police Force helicopter, which released cascading flower petals over the crowd, creating an unforgettable visual spectacle and drawing applause and awe from attendees.
Music enthusiasts were treated to high-energy performances by internationally recognized Indian artists. Pallavi Dabholkar, the Mumbai-based singer, lyricist, and digital creator, mesmerized audiences with her dynamic vocals and stage presence.
Parleen Singh Gill, Indian Idol finalist and acclaimed singer-songwriter, kept the crowd energized with his charismatic and engaging performance.
The excitement continued with a raffle draw, featuring prizes ranging from trips to India to TV sets. Kansai Plascon Managing Director Santosh Gumte personally presented the prizes, underscoring the company’s long-term commitment to supporting cultural initiatives and community cohesion in Uganda.
Gumte highlighted Holi as a celebration that strengthens community ties while embracing diversity, aligning with Kansai Plascon’s mission of fostering meaningful connections wherever it operates.
