Rubis Energy Uganda has committed to supporting the vulnerable through a Corporate Social Responsibility partnership worth 10,000 Euros, approximately Shs 40.2 million, with The Remnant Generation (TRG), a faith-based non-governmental organization dedicated to the healing, restoration, and empowerment of survivors of sexual abuse and teen mothers.
The handover event, held at The Remnant Generation head offices in Busega, Kitaka Zone, highlighted a shared commitment to promoting dignity, well-being, and sustainable livelihoods among young women and girls across Uganda.
The partnership will see Rubis Energy Uganda provide crucial in-kind support to TRG’s shelters, including household items, food, sanitary and learning materials to cover the Restoration program, Health program, and the Thrive program, which includes Early Childhood Development learning, hairdressing, and formal education, as well as fuel for the organization’s service van.
In a move towards environmental sustainability, Rubis is also facilitating the transition of TRG shelters from charcoal use to clean, safe, and efficient Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cooking energy. This initiative aligns with Rubis Energy’s commitment to promoting cleaner energy solutions while enhancing the health and safety of communities in need.
Speaking at the event, Rubis Energy Uganda Managing Director, Mr. William Humbert-Marie Fillet, commended The Remnant Generation for its decade-long impact and strong commitment to restoring hope and dignity to survivors.
“At Rubis, we believe that every partnership should create meaningful, lasting change. Our collaboration with The Remnant Generation embodies our values of compassion, empowerment, and sustainability. We are proud to stand with an organization that has transformed thousands of lives through love, faith, and practical support. This initiative reflects our belief that when we empower women and girls, we build stronger, healthier, and more resilient communities,” he said.

Rubis CSR Manager, Mr. Henry Karuhanga, highlighted the alignment between TRG’s transformative work and Rubis Energy’s CSR pillars, which focus on health, education, and community development.
“By providing access to cleaner energy, health resources, and vocational tools, we are contributing to a safer, more dignified environment for these young women to heal and thrive. Our goal is to support them not only to rebuild their lives but also to become agents of change in their own communities,” he remarked.
The Remnant Generation was founded by Annabelle Nakabiri Ssebakijje, whose own story is one of courage, resilience, and redemption. At just 13 years old, Annabelle was sexually abused and betrothed to a 35-year-old man. Through many trials, she ran away in search of her real mother, and against all odds, managed to complete her education and build a family of her own.
Her personal journey ignited a deep conviction to stand in the gap for girls who, like her younger self, faced abuse and rejection. Out of this passion, The Remnant Generation was born — to rescue, restore, and empower survivors of sexual abuse and pregnant teenage girls, giving them access to better choices and a second chance at life.
Annabelle Nakabiri Ssebakijje, now the TRG Executive Director, reflected on the organization’s journey and the significance of Rubis’ support.
“This support is proof of the power of compassion and shared vision. For many of the girls we serve, a safe environment, proper nutrition, and access to clean energy are lifelines. Rubis Energy’s generosity will directly improve the quality of care in our shelters and help us create a healthier, more sustainable future for our girls and the children. Together, we are rewriting stories of pain into stories of purpose and hope,” she said.
For over a decade, The Remnant Generation has served as a sanctuary for young women and girls facing crises resulting from sexual abuse and teenage pregnancy.
Operating shelters such as the Princess Shelter for teenage mothers and the Juveniles of Honor home for abused girls, TRG has impacted over 7,000 lives through rescue, counseling, healthcare, education, and skilling programs.
Its holistic “3RT Model” — Rescue, Restore, Repurpose, Thrive — focuses on healing trauma, equipping survivors with skills, and reintegrating them into safe family or community environments where they can flourish.
